Sober or drunk, this is a fun way to see part of the island that is often missed by sticking to the normal tourist destinations. Carabao are the friendly, lumbering water buffalo that are an essential part of Siargao’s way of life. Drunken Carabao Tour is run by two British expats who love to party.
You’ll meet up at a bar and be fed copious amounts of free alcohol; plenty to rid you of nerves. After everyone has drunk their preferred amount of alcohol, they’ll get to meet their carabao and climb aboard. The trek up into the hills is an experience that is not easily replicated. When you arrive, sit and relax while taking in the scenic beauty of an overlooking ridge. Bring your camera to capture the views of a mangrove forest at sunset, backed by rolling hills.
If you’re feeling really brave (or drunk), participate in carabao races along a strip on the hill tops. This exhilarating experience is loved by all that are dare to compete. Fancy the carabou ride, but prefer something a bit more sedate? The organizers are happy to arrange carabao for leisurely group rides into the hills.
