Everyone’s favorite local island, this place is pure paradise! The island is quite large although 99% of visitors head to the gorgeous beach on the southernmost tip. Here you’ll find many facilities that will make an all day stay enjoyable and relaxing. Included in the island hopping tour is rental of a kubo, with seating for the group. There is also plenty of shade from ample palm trees. This, coupled with the refreshing clear blue water surrounding the sandy peninsula, makes a perfect combination of sun, sand, swimming and shade. During the tour, a fantastic BBQ lunch is cooked fresh on the island, featuring Mahi Mahi or Tuna, freshly caught that morning, to be grilled and supplemented with local specialties such as Kinilaw. Other popular activities on Daku island include surfing, exploring the island, snorkeling Daku’s surrounding reefs, scuba diving, swimming, beach volleyball, and a Viento Del Mar special, COCOSHOT, a drunkenly inspired version of the French game Bowls, just much less skillful and way more fun. Though there are two surf breaks just off the island, the most commonly surfed is a mellow right hander called Daku Normal. The island is about a 15 minute boat ride from General Luna.
This small, idyllic island surrounded by shallow, clear water is home to a small beach, a small Kubo and a couple dozen palm trees. A trip here will often mean you have the island to yourself. It’s a short distance from General Luna town and is a customary stopover on all island hopping tours. It can also be reached by private Banca hire, kayak, or stand up paddle board. Keep an eye on the skies as there are often birds of prey circling the island. This island is a perfect romantic getaway for couples wanting to explore independently and have your own island for the day (or at least most of it).
As the name suggests, this island is naked. It’s a pure expanse of white sand, with no trees or vegetation. A 20 minute boat ride from General Luna, it’s usually a fairly short stopover here as no shade is available. However, it’s a beautiful spot in early morning or later afternoon, when there’s no midday sun. Naked Island is surrounded by deeper crystal clear lagoon, usually with calm waters, making it an excellent spot for swimming, snorkeling & sunbathing. (as of summer 2016 some baby palm trees have been planted, taking away the island’s naked status.)
Island hopping – Tour 2 (2 islands, 2 beaches: Corregidor & Dagohoy beach)
It is possible to take a boat from General Luna but it’s 1 hour boat ride. So we arrange a van to Dapa and boat from there. The trip includes visiting Casulian Island, Corregidor beach – perfect place for chilling on the beach and swimming. Then we go to East Bukas Grande, Dagohoy beach – beautiful long stretch of white sand beach where we serve lunch with drinks. This beach has flat shallow waters and it’s perfect for SUPs and beach volleyball.
The tour includes:
Habal-habal or van to Dapa and back
Boat for the whole day
Visit to 2 islands
Hiking at Casulian Island
Snacks and drinks at Corregidor beach
Cottage at Dagohoy beach
Lunch and drinks at Dagohoy beach
Frisbee & Volley ball
Casulian Island – Corregidor Beach
As beautiful as Daku island Casulian island has wide white sand beach and deep waters. It’s a perfect place for swimming and snorkeling as well as just chilling on the beach. The main Corregidor beach is never crowded with people and you can truly enjoy the nature surrounding you.
Take a stroll to the little village near by and meet local community as well as do 20 min hike to the hilltop for amazing views of the island and the sea.
East Bukas Grande Island – Dagohoy Beach
Just 5 min boat ride from Corregidor beach towards Dapa lays island of East Bukas Grande. And Dagohoy beach is 4-km long stretch of white sand along all south side of the island. Flat shallow water in front is perfect for water activities like standup paddle boarding or kitesurfing during Habagat season. You will be welcome by the local family who will arrange lunch with grilled meat and fish, vegetables and fruits. While waiting you can enjoy volleyball or frisbee game. And on the way back you have a chance to watch amazing sunset over mangroves.
